Geissele Trigger Install

Quick Tip: How to Install the Geissele Trigger

In this quick tip video, Caleb from Brownells walks viewers through the complete process of installing a Geissele trigger into an AR-15 lower receiver. He explains the necessary tools, parts included in the kit, and installation techniques, including properly seating pins, aligning components, performing a function check, and applying lubricant to engagement surfaces for optimal performance.

What You Will Learn

Viewers will learn a clear, step-by-step method for installing any Geissele AR-15 trigger correctly and efficiently.

Benefit

The benefit of watching is gaining the confidence to complete the installation themselves without damaging parts, improving the reliability and performance of their firearm, and understanding best practices for future upgrades.

Introduction

Upgrading your AR-15's trigger can dramatically improve performance, and today, Caleb from Brownells walks you through installing a Geissele trigger the right way. No matter which Geissele model you have, the process is virtually the same — and Caleb breaks it down step-by-step.

Getting Started

Caleb kicks things off by opening the brand-new Geissele SSA-E trigger kit, showing all included parts: the trigger with disconnector attached, the hammer, and the necessary pins. After a quick reminder to read the instructions (seriously, always do this), he prepares everything on the table for easy access.

Installing the Trigger

After removing the pre-installed pins from the hammer and trigger, Caleb explains how to use the included stainless steel pin to hold the disconnector in place during installation. He drops the trigger into the receiver — taking care to properly align the springs — and presses the first pin in by hand, making sure it’s flush.

Installing the Hammer

With the trigger secured, Caleb moves on to the hammer. He demonstrates the correct orientation for the hammer spring, applies downward pressure, and wiggles the hammer slightly to align everything. Using careful pressure, he seats the second pin and confirms a solid installation.

Function Check

Before calling it done, Caleb shows how to perform a basic function check: cock the hammer, pull the trigger, and ensure a clean release. Once the safety is reinstalled, verify that the hammer stays cocked when the safety is on. Finally, he recommends applying ALG Go Juice lubricant to all engagement surfaces for optimal performance.

Final Thoughts

This installation isn't just about swapping parts — it’s about ensuring reliability and smooth operation. Caleb's clear instructions and helpful tips make it approachable even if it's your first time upgrading an AR trigger.
