Introducing the Brownells BRN-16A2 Complete Upper Receiver

Hi everyone, Paul Levy with Brownells here! Today, we’re excited to unveil a brand-new Brownells product: the BRN-16A2 Complete Upper Receiver. This upper is a faithful homage to the classic M16A2 configuration and is packed with authentic features that make it ideal for collectors, retro enthusiasts, and shooters who appreciate military-style precision.

Classic A2 Features from Muzzle to Rear

Starting at the front, the BRN-16A2 includes a classic A2 flash hider with the proper crush washer used on M16A2 rifles. Behind it, you'll find a non-F marked front sight base, ensuring proper sight alignment with the fixed A2 rear sight—crucial for accurate M16A2-style zeroing.

The upper also features:

• A machined bayonet lug

• Sling swivel

• M16A2 handguards with internal heat shields

• 20-inch government profile barrel, 1:7 twist, chrome-lined bore and chamber

• Chambered in 5.56 NATO

• Standard rifle feed ramps (not M4 style)

Built to Military Specs

This upper includes the Delta ring assembly, introduced on the M16A2 for easier handguard removal. One of the rare highlights is the fully forged M16A2 upper receiver, complete with:

• Shell deflector bump

• Round-style forward assist

• Classic A2 rear sight with adjustable elevation (300–800 meters) and windage

The rear sight is designed for precision adjustments, with dual apertures—a small peep sight and a larger ghost ring—ideal for different shooting conditions.
